Coming soon: Opening Ceremony’s 10-Year Book! Opening Ceremony is turning ten this year! It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a decade since Carol and Humberto quit their jobs and pooled their savings to open a store on a little-traveled block near Soho. To celebrate the anniversary of the company, OC is planning some exciting commemorations, including an anniversary book with Rizzoli to be published on September 4th.
We dug deep into our archives for everything from the first business plans written on napkins to incredible imagery from events, collections, and collaborations. Among the hundreds of friends and family that contributed memories and artwork to the book are: Ryan McGinley, Alexander Wang, Sally Singer, M.I.A., Terence Koh, Marcel Dzama, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Jason Schwartzman, and so many more. Spike and Chloë even made their own special ‘zine inserts, and the inimitable Terry Richardson did an incredible series of portraits just for the book. We can’t wait to share it with you.
